Geneva
In the very heart of Europe, Geneva has a long tradition as a venue for major meetings and is a host city to many international organizations such as the United Nations Organization, the World Health Organization, the International Labor Office, the International Red Cross and the European Organization for Nuclear Research, among others. It has been a cultural center for many centuries and home to many creative spirits in the fields of science and art. It has all the advantages of a small city combined with the facilities and services usually only found in much larger cities. Geneva is situated in one of Europe’s most beautiful scenery, between lake and mountains.
Official Language
English is the official language of the congress. No simultaneous interpretation will be provided. Several streams in German and French will also be offered.
Climate and clothing
The climate is usually mild in June with temperatures of around 17 to 20° Celsius ( 63 to 70° F ). However, in addition to light clothing, don't forget warmer clothes and a raincoat for rainy days and good walking shoes as well as proper clothing if you plan excursions to the mountains.
Passport and visa requirements
For citizens of most countries, only a valid passport is required. However, visitors coming from certain countries may need a tourist visa. Please consult your travel agent or the nearest Swiss Consulate. On request, Symporg SA will be pleased to send you an Official Invitation letter.

Money
The local currency is the Swiss Franc (CHF). One Swiss Franc equals approximately 0.60 Euro. Banking hours are from Monday to Friday, 8.30 am to 4.30 pm

Shops in Geneva are open Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 6:00 pm and Saturday from 8:30 to 5:00 pm. Shops at the Geneva Airport are open 7/7 from 8am to 8pm.
